29 Hours Per Week:  7.25 hours, 4 days a week

DEFINITION:

Classified employee under the supervision of the Low Incidence Disability (LID) special education teacher, the instructional assistant will perform a variety of tasks associated with the teaching process: supervising students, presenting prepared or standardized lessons, administering tests, and performing related work as requested.  The Instructional Assistant assumes routine supervisory, clerical, materials handling, and short-term planning tasks in an efficient manner.  The Instructional Assistant may also be expected to perform certain duties relating to a student’s physical needs (e.g. catheterization, lifting, toileting, transferring, feeding, etc.).  Handling of body fluids of severely disabled students may be a daily task.
